The Gummies that Changed

Updated: May 16, 2021

It was early spring 2020 , when I noticed that Target's Market Pantry brand of Gummy Bears a friend bought me had changed into a smaller, tougher, less zesty tasting hybrid. As I recall, I bemoan their recipe change. Those were the best texture and flavor ever. Now they are gone. 😩 Still there and yet gone... Maybe the recipe change was only temporary. I never went back to Target find out... Wahhhh. 🤧

On the bright side, Black Forest Gummy Bears has morphed into a smaller tangier flavored recipe. A pleasant surprise though I will miss the chewy mass of the larger sized precursor. And they have spun off into many organic fractalicious varieties.

Smart Sweets has a Gen X appeal with nostalgic flavors and skinny measures of sugar. Stevia sweetened. The Swedish Fish are true to flavor and mysteriously enough, texture. There's red licorice too! Furthermore, I like that twelve pack. A pricey and yes, short lasting indulgence. The only drawback is the skimpy portions. :/ Oh well that's their game.

A mysterious UK candy company named Diablo makes gummies that are sweetened with stevia. But they do not deliver to the USA. That's become somewhat of a thing nowadays. Some businesses will not even accept U$ money anymore. And their cryptoken wallets are not available to US citizens. Uh oh...😥 So much for the active networkers flitting back and forth overseas with a flick of a finger on a whim anymore. Now there seem to be more obstacles. I digress...
